09/05/10 - I normally take 33 down to 374 to 180 turn right and follow that to 664 turn left and follow that past old mans cave and you will end up back at 33. Great ride, great area, but watch out for other cars animals and police, they are starting to patrol that area more this year than i have ever seen in the last 19 years of riding those roads. 374 has new pavement this year, but you still need to watch for gravel.

The first time I rode the Thompson Ridge Road I also saw the similarity with the Blue Ridge Parkway. Although short, it is a close drive from Columbus and is a nice reminder of the BRP. This is especially nice in October during midweek when the leaves are colorful and there is little other traffic. [Any road in this general area with the name "Ridge", "Creek", "Run", or "Hollow" is going to be a good ride.

The only reason to give this a 4 star is due to all the gravel on the first portion starting in Laurelville. After those first few miles it’s smooth sailing and all of the routes in this area are 5 star routes.
