I love this route. I just did it not to long ago and very much enjoyed it. I have one big recommendation. Instead of staying on 519 up in High Point. Follow on Rt 23 and go through High Point that way. Especially if you like the twisties. Rt 23 going down the mountain was just repaved and it's a lot of fun. I ended up doing that section 4 or 5 times.

From Milford, NJ all to they way to High Point is and amazing ride. Some really fast sections in Sussex County with good turns. From 519 near Rt. 23 take Rt. 650 over the Mountian for some amazing scenery. All the back roads in Warren and Susex County are quite a bit of fun for any style of bike and or rider.

I live right of of 519 up on High Point Mountain. The best part starts right as you leave Newton until you hit RT23. Scenic and the twisties get good right past Branchville. I ride this road nearly every day during riding season. It never gets old!

The gorgeous weather today (November 19, 2011) gave me an opportunity to try this ride. My wife and I rode the entire Phillipsburg to High Point route and it was exactly as described here. We enjoyed it very much.

Take time to stop in Beemerville (yes that is the name of the town) and see the Space Farms Zoo and Museum. This zoo displays some healthy animals from all over the world--they are clean and well fed. See lions, tigers, and bears. Also see the nice collection of antique motorcycles and cars. Have a buffalo burger too!

If you are running the river Northbound from Phila and want to keep on keepin' on 519 is the way to go. One thing I've found on 30 or so drives up this road is that it is disjointed and difficult to follow, which makes it not useful as a through way. So if someone is tailgating you, odds are they are local and will bail out before long, leaving the road to you. Plan about 3.5 hours from Philly to Lafayette NJ. Don't be surprised if you lose the route.

Outstanding ride. First 20 miles N of Phillipsburg is freshly paved and like glass. Fairly straight in the southern 1/2, twists pick up in the N 1/2. Saw a black bear walking around some dude's front lawn about 3/4 of the way through. 519 turns off several times, but didn't miss any. Went up to high point, over to Milford and down 209 to 611 to complete the loop back to easton.

Absolutely gorgeous ride. You will have trouble keeping your eyes on the road, the scenery is spectacular. The one stop sign small towns, and vistas are great. One would never believe they are in NJ. A must ride!

Actually, 519 starts just north of Lambertville; it's over 88 miles and the whole route is made for motorcycles.

I ride this road quite often it is AWSOME, VERY scenic. My route is I hit it in Newton head towards Phillipsburg. From there I hit the free bridge and cross into PA Hit 611 north and stop at the Riverside Grill about 20min. ride once you hit 611. On a nice Sunday or their bikenight Mondays you'll see a TON of sweet rides. I love this route because you go from some very scenic country cruising to a nice pleasant ride along the Delaware

Rt 519 is also known as the War Veterans Memorial Highway. An incredibly beautiful ride. Two warehouses (3 mill SF) are proposed on 585 acres of farmland Rt 519 and Foul Rift Rd., 12 miles from the nearest interstate. At peak hours, 850 new truck trips will be added to Rt 519. We are advocating for a modified agriculture zone promoting traditional farming, farm-to-table, farmers market, etc. Motorcycle riders have a voice that needs to be heard. More tractor trailer traffic chip away at the beauty and enjoyment riding on one of Central NJ's premier scenic roads. Warehouses are part of our new supply chain, but not in the middle of an agricultural area 12 miles for a highway. Please help us stop this poorly-sighted development. Rt 519 is a beautiful road thru agri. land and small towns. It' also dedicated as the "War Veterans Memorial Highway.". A 3 million SF warehouse is proposed at Rt 519 and Foul Rift Rd White Twp. Warehouses are now a part of our supply chain and economy, by we can't let them be built anywhere. This one is 12-miles from I-78 and 14-miles from I-80. It will result in 850 more trucks and hour (peak), 7-days/week. That just makes Rt 519 a less desirable place to ride. Motorcycle riders can have a very effective voice on these sorts of issues.
