Not quite sure what problems Will had in the village of Jonesville but I have lived here for 35 years and have been riding for 17 of them and have only had one motorcycle related problem in this town. There is one lone state police officer who has a hard on for bikers, which is weird as he himself rides a bike. The community has developed a reputation as a dining destination in recent years with several different establishments to choose from and every single one of them is motorcycle friendly. So if Will's problems were with the aforementioned single state cop, please don't let that be a deterrent as this is actually a friendly town. And like any other community, if you mind your manners chances are you won't get messed with. And for everyone's information, the previously mentioned police officer only harasses people wearing what are deemed "illegal" helmets.

the old Chicago route. The first road between Detroit and Chicago. Spent my formative years riding this road on the back of my brother's '58 Duo-Glide. Our parents had a cottage in the Irish Hills, (near Michigan International Speedway). Just enough twists and turns to keep you awake but mostly its a historical road through southern Michigan.

We rode this in July as the final leg of a 3 day ride. Most of the beauty of this ride is early on from the Lake with gold tree lined roads and twists. Then becomes less spectacular. Otherwise, it's just a good easy ride along an old US highway with lots of small towns and farms. Still gives good windshield time, but not great as far as scenery.

Picked this road up at Sturgis, MI and rode it to I-94 at the western end of this route as described. Lovely, mostly tree lined road which was a nice respite on a rather warm summer day. Only downside were a lot of side roads with 4 wheelers running up to Hwy 12 at what seemed a breakneck pace (guessing their brakes need done about every 20,000).
