Motorcycle Type : Touring

For a truly killer motorcycle ride to Lake George (americade) take RT 2 west to RT 63 north into Vermont then take RT 9 west to RT 30 west into New York then RT 149 into lake George. Most of RT 30 is all freshly paved as of Sept 2010. Bring your camera as you travel through some of the most beautiful country I have ever seen. It maybe be a bit longer that most, but well worth the journey.

Excellent route, although "Al's" idea of taking Rt. 2 (Mohawk Trail) West is a great ride, too. If you want to take the "express route" head for NY Rt. 87 North (the Northway) - still a pleasant ride. This will be my fourth year attending Americade, and you can't find a better run event for real motorcyclists. Lots to see and do, and I especially love the numerous rides they have planned. You should try to go for the whole week, and pre-register at their web site. Leave your bad-ass attitudes (and loud pipes) home and just come to enjoy the good times with good people. See you there!

The past 3 years a group of friends and I have been going to Lake George, NY for our annual bike trip. The roads you listed here are almost exactly the route we take and you are coorect about it being a wonderful ride with great scenery. You may also want to continue on Rt 2 as the ride through the mountains is amazing. There are nice curvy roads and a very tight hairpin turn.

Puhleez, Anytime that you "riders" have to get on 90 and call it a killer ride,.... go back home. I can't believe this bull.

I took this ride a couple of years ago. The time in Vermont was some of the best I have ever had on a motorcycle. I'm planning to do it again this year.
