One of the most gorgeous rides anywhere. For an added twist take the Cassville Ferry accross the Mississippi and head South through Potosi and stop at the National Brewery Museum before continuing to Dubuque. Great food and craft beer.

For those who love traveling along the country side beside the flowing river with peaceful silence all around you, the Northern Iowa Riven Run seems to be the perfect choice!! I love rides like this and have been to a few which my friends have recommended and every single one of them were an experience!! This is my favorite part of Iowa and is a much better road than any in Wisconsin along the Mississippi river south of the Wisconsin confluence. The roads are always in great shape with excellent scenery and vistas. Amenities are sparse but charming south of Guttenberg and then very nice upon reaching MacGregor.

Nice river views, Illinoise side had some good views. Guttenbur or similiar name on the Iowa side was beautiful, with nice rest stop. Visited Grants home in Galena Ill, the town is a must visit walking tour

This is a spectacular drive, there is a new restaurant/brewery in McGregor just south of Marquette called Old Man River. Food was great, beer wasn't ready yet, and the atmosphere was awesome. The building was totally refurbished and they kept it open but still we were able to have our "privacy".

We did it South to North, from Dubuque, and stayed on the C9Y as much as we could from the south. Really great ride. There is something about these roads around here. Great scenery and great roads and you can really open up the throttle and lean into the turns without slowing down or feeling threatened. I like to ride fast and this lets you do it without having to concentrate so hard. I would make the trip back here from Toronto to do this region again. This is a great ride.
