IN 135 is a great ribbon of a windy, hilly road!!! Stop in Story, IN to see the old store & restaurant: it looks like you stepped back into 1920 or 1930's. the food is excellent. The best part of 135 is from Nashville, IN to Brownstown, IN, (I think)but keep going to see the INDIANA coutryside. Usually minimal traffic. Corydon has a lot to see & do, especially if you are a history buff. 135 from Corydon to Mauckport is pretty uneventful, other that crossing Ohio river into Kentucky. From Corydon, I recommend going east on IN 62 & IN 66 and taking the Ohio Scenic Byway to Evansville. Stop at The Overlook Restaurant in Leavonworth to eat, and watch the tug boats and barges on the Ohio River. Great photo op!!!

I just rode Hwy 135 last week and it was honestly the best ride I've had. I took 46 out of Bloomington to Brown County state park. Rode through the park to 135 and followed 135 all the way down to where it runs into Hwy 50. From there I took 50 -> 250 -> 39 -> 256 down to Madison, IN, right on the Ohio river. The Hwy 39 and 256 part of the ride was almost as good as the ride on 135 and offered some great riding and scenery.

Route was a little boring between Ohio river and Salem. Once we got through Salem it was a complete 180! exciting roads, where it said 15mph and you actually needed to be going 10! some corners were so tight every person in the group dragged! This route had some great views and for the most part really well kept roads!

Enjoyed this ride Sept 2012, good smooth roads that are just right for touring. No signficant turns that requires a reduced speed. Plenty of small towns to enjoy and get refreshed.

09/20/09 - 135 at the Jackson Co. Line has had a fresh coat of chip-&-seal added recently. There is lots of loose gravel and the road is hazardous especially on the corners. For those traveling this route, please exercise caution.

Took this trip on 07/24/2016. It was a lovely Sunday ride. The wife and I started our trip from Brandenburg, KY around 1130am and planned to make a full day of it. The roads were in good condition, except for IN 135, north of Brownstown, IN. There were doing construction and had both ways down to a one lane defile. Other than that it was a perfect ride up. We hung around Nashville, IN and Story, IN for a few hours and shopped and ate. After a few hours we headed home and the ride back down was just as relaxing. We love riding on Sundays because of the traffic being less. We will definitely take this route again in the future.

I have enjoyed 135 in sports cars and bikes for decades, and it keeps getting better and smoother. It has loads of blind turns, elevation changes, and speed changes, and you will be throwing gears up and down fast as you react to each fun challenge it gives you. If it has rained in the previous 3-5 days, you will have rivulets of water crossing the road from place to place, and the occasional crop of freshly mowed grass dumped onto the road by a careless property owner.. The scenery is awesome as you follow a creek and wind through old growth forests and see exposed rock formations, and old farms and roadside buildings. A great tune up ride for your handling skills!

I rode this route about a decade ago and I’m so glad to see it on this website. The route was fantastic and I’ve told many riders about it since then. I don’t know what was the best thing about it: the scenery, the great turns, or the nice parks along the way, but everyone of those parts was great. If you’re in that part of the country, you definitely need to put this on your bucket list.

Overall nice road. Pavement was not in the best state when I rode it (6/8/20). I rode it from Ohio north. Side trips into the towns along the road are interesting. Corydon, Story and Nashville are little gems.
