This was a beautiful ride. It was very hot and humid but as soon as we got under those oaks laden with Spanish moss it was gorgeous. There are some parks along the way, gorgeous views of the river and lovely homes. We also ate at the Outback Crab Shack, and had a wonderful meal!

Nice ride from SR16 to SR207. No traffic on a Sat afternoon. 45-55mph with several miles bordering the St. John's river.

Great ride to SR 207. From there you can head East to St. Augustine or West to Palatka and pick up 17 to continue further South.

We thoroughly enjoyed this very scenic ride! We continued our ride from Pulatka to St. Augustine and then up the A1A coast. Beautiful scenic ride. We left around 7:30am and completed the ride around 11:30. Although we stopped for lunch at the Blue Water Island Grill in Jacksonville Beach. We are new to Jacksonville and weren't really sure where to start out ride. Thanks so much for this suggestion.

While not long, this is one of, if not the most, scenic rides in North Florida as it winds along the St Johns River South of Jacksonville. Lots of big old Live Oak trees over hanging the road with Spanish moss hanging down, gives one the flavor of the old south. The views of the St Johns River, often only a few feet away are spectacular.

I love this ride along the river, but with all the new construction, you need to watch for cars pulling out of driveways .

Scenic road along the water in many spots nice small towns but had some pretty heavy traffic for such narrow, privative roads.

To me this road is just ok... part of the reason is that this to me is a novice road. I chose to go this way one day because there were "curves" but it's more bends in the roads versus curves. The scenery is pretty though Ill give it that. Not much for tourism or places to eat on this direct route. All in all for a Florida road its not too bad.

Rode this in January after the Winter rally in Starke by the BMW NEF club. I was looking for an alternative road heading south and avoid I-95 as much as possible.
It was a great choice as the views of the St. Johns are nice. Very little traffic out as well since I was there at 8:30 AM on a Sunday. I'd definitely ride it again when I'll get back up there.

Ride it all the time, great views of the St. John's river. Watch out for the Turkeys, they will walk out in front of you in mating season!

Love riding this route any time of the year. The oak canopy with the hanging Spanish moss can be breathtaking. Living near the north end of this road I get to drive it frequently and there are several parks to stop at to see beautiful sunsets and wander near the water to watch manatee.

Highly recommended short cruise in North Florida. Just south of Jacksonville. Beautiful straight, well paved road through the Spanish moss covered trees with great views on the St. John's River. Try the bridge over the river too (SR 16).
