I din't like this road and as someone stated here it is full of speed traps and very bad shape. Last time I took it I almost fell in a pothole wide enough to swallow me and my bike! I prefer the Tuna, Temescal or Malibu canyons, better maintained and more pleasant views.

a lot of dangers and cops along this road as I have been pulled over many times... better to use CA-27 (Topanga Canyon) than the dangerous Old Topanga Canyon

Yep - I've done this one a couple of times and it is very nice! I like to do it really early moning on a Saturday so the traffic is light. Nice twists and turns and the scenery is always changing. Highy recomend this!!

Gorgeous landscapes and fun but acessible to newbie bikers. Good visibilty in almost every turn. I took the Old Canyon Road and the road was empty, on a Sunny Sumemr Sunday afternoon. A lot of fun and not too crazy

Its very twisty Old Topanga near Mulholland. And its narrow. And its beautiful. I can see low ratings if you are unfamiliar. But 5 or so turns and its spectacular. Tpopanga Cyn (not Old) is easy and fun, but gets congested during rush hours. Look up Piuma and Stunt. Close by add ons. amazing. fast.

When I was in high school in 1975, I had an RD-350 two stroke Yamaha with chambers and down bars. Dunlop roadmasters and a little motor work for which I used to blaze these mountain roads to the Rock Store every Saturday. From 1 up Topanga and to Mulhulland and out to the store, smoking the dirt bags at every opportunity. Those were the days. NO COPS. I especially liked Tuna Canyon road and Los Virgines. The store was the cool place to be.

Very good in the early morning (7:00-8:00 am) if you can get yourself up for it - the peddlers haven't congregated and the other riders are sparse. This place can get very dangerous very quickly if you don't know it and push your limits. There are any number of fun branches to explore along the Mulholland Highway.
