I disagree. This is a great ride for a group that is in no hurry to get anywhere fast. It's a road the the pilot can safely look around at the view and enjoy the ride without all the adrenaline. A lot of ammenities and places to visit. The weather is usually nice year round too. If you're 20 years old and just wanna go fast on the twisties, then NO this isn't your ride.

This is a cool route if you are new to California and would like to ride along the ocean... but no means one of the better routes in the area. Lots of stuff to do if you want to spend a full day hanging out. Expect lots of cars and people... and lots of stop and go traffic.

The OG poster saying this is one of the greatest motorcycle roads is a bit of a stretch. It's a high traffic, straight road with lots of signals that runs along the Southern California Coast... and not even through the really good scenery parts. If you've never been in California before and you find yourself in the San Diego area with only 1 day to ride a motorcycle somewhere and it's been a life long dream to ride on PCH, then, maybe, do this road. Outside of that, there's about 1,000 better places to ride.

Good ride the beginning has very nice ocean views and so good roads, but to many stop signs at the end. Good for a slow summer ride

Nice ocean/people views, but WAAAY too much traffic and no twisties. Might be ok for a "look-at-me" cruise, but as far as actual riding goes, look elsewhere!
For serious riding, consider HWY 1 at Morro Bay going north...

I live in Bay Park and bought my bike from a friend in Oceanside. Not having any experience I didn't want to get on the freeway right off the bat so I took this route. Then I had to do a lot of work on my bike so I ended up taking this route back up to Oceanside and back down several times. It's a fun ride, nice ocean views, plenty of places to eat. There is, however, plenty of signals and stop signs making it hard to gather any amount of speed for any length of time but it's well worth taking the time for.
