While I agree this is a great ride, be aware that the eastern 6-7 miles of this road (between Oark and highway-21) is dirt. For cruisers, you'll need to turn around at Oark and head south on highway-103 and towards Clarksville.

I agree it's a hidden gem. I came on this road almost by accident. You can't go much further than Oark cause it turns to dirt, but from Oark to Hwy-23 is a great road. It's short enough to turn off of Hwy-23 and go to Oark (for lunch) and back.

A hidden gem. I rode this from AR 23 to AR 103, several times, in May 2013. Road surface was in good condition. Minimal traffic, just a few other bikes, a couple of cars, and an ATV was all we saw in numerous runs on this road.
On the west end there is a small grass airstrip so you'll sometimes see ultralights or helicopters flying in and out of it. The rest of the road is a mix of sweepers and tighter turns with good scenery and several pull offs overlooking a river.
NO services-gas, food, or anything else between AR 23 and AR 103.
After crossing Herrod's Creek near AR 23, there is an ATV park so be on the lookout for ATVs and/or people entering and exiting. This is a fun one so go enjoy!

Got on at the Hwy 23 end and rode to Oark for lunch. It's a good road with great scenery. The Oark store is a hoot! One of the locals said it was now under new management. I'm not sure what he meant by "new". It appears to be doing fine. Numerous customers there, even as it was a rainy day. The pavement still ends at Catalpa as I'm told. Didn't try it. This road should definitely be on your list of must-do's if you are in the area!

I rode this road yesterday. (09/23/2011) The construction is completed. The route is paved all the way from Cass on AR 23 through Oark and on to Catalpa. Catalpa is about 4 miles east of Oark. From Catalpa to Ozone, the road IS NOT PAVED. That being said, the road south from Oark to Clarksville (AR 103) is fantastic. In addition to the Oark General Store, the General Store at Catalpa, where the pavement ends has fantastic pies. You have to ride about 500 feet of gravel to get there.

Great little road. I have taken it many times, it follows the Mulberry River with a few goods looks at the river down below. Take it from highway 23 to Oark and then highway 103 south to Clarksville or vice versa, you won't be disappointed either way. By the way I had a close encounter with a black bear last spring running out in front of me, what a thrill, I scared him as much as he scared me. Be safe.

Really nice, but after lunch at Oark, which is a must, I ran into gravel just a short stretch later. Did I make a wrong turn? Doubled back and went down 103 out of the mountains and cut across east on some little county road before Clarksville and picked up 21 north. This was also a great route. Sorry I didn't pay attention to the C.R. number.

A nice road with gorgeous scenery. A good side trip from the Pig Trail. No amenities, just lots of the best the Ozarks have to offer.

This is now one of our newest scenic byways. Not for mountain views or drop-offs, but a valley ride. The road follows the Mulberry River from the intersection of AR-23 to AR-21. For those of you needing asphalt, be aware that the last few miles (from just east of Oark to AR-21) is dirt. The best route is to come up from Clarksville on AR-103 and intersect 215 just west of Oark, then turn west. However, you can't miss eating lunch at the Oark Café (don't worry, it's alphalt all the way to Oark).

215 connects two of the best routes in Arkansas, 23 and 21. As a bonus right in the middle you can stop at the Oark café for some tasty ice cream.

One of my favorite motorcycle roads in the Ozarks. Great views following along the Mulberry River.

I've ridden the general area around here and Highway 215 is news to me! I plan to try it on my next trip to the Ozarks. To the OP: Thanks for taking the time to post this!

I rode 215 from Oark west to Hwy 23 on July 25, 2010. There is some serious construction going on about 2 miles west of Oark. About a 3 mile stretch was pretty rough. The sign says it will be under construction until Spring 2011. This is a great road, but don't go there until next spring. It will be even better after the eastern section is fully redone.

I've driven by the start of this ride all my life and I've never given it a second glance. Wow, I've been missing out. The views of the Mulberry river was worth the trip.
