Oops! My previous review was for the route through Payson instead of Globe. However, we have biked both routes to and from Show Low. Both are great trips. At the SR 188 & US 60 Junction is a very good cafe with the best ever cinnamon rolls.

Fall 2011. Great ride for new or experienced rider. Very scenic. Bee Line Cafe in Payson great place to stop for a break and breakfast. Dress in layers.

Rode from Show Low into Globe. Awesome. Big sweepers frame the canyon - nice twisties. Watch for tourist pylons - some big trucks.

This is a great route and it gets even better if you ride past Show Low and onto Pinetop into Greer. Stay at the cabins at Greer Lodge.. gorgeous bike ride, not alot of traffic and nothing better than kicking your feet up on the front porch of your cabin after a long day on the bike.

Best when heading north from Phoenix; make time to stop about 30 minutes north of Globe where it looks like a lost section of the Grand Canyon!

This is a beautiful ride up through the Superstitions to the old mining districts and then up through Salt River Canyon to the White Mountains. Another great ride to escape the heat of the valley. There are so many views that sometime it's hard to keep your eyes on the road. Beware some of the most scenic parts on this road don't allow passing and vehicles pulling trailers can easily ruin this ride. If you can get around them early on, you can travel at you leisure and not worry about someone riding up your tailpipe.

rode 14 Aug 2021 and enjoyed the scenery except Superior and the switchbacks when we got swamped by a passing trucks in the downpouring rain.
