Everyone should ride this at least once. I suggest that if you can it's best to ride on a weekday in the hope of finding less traffic. It can get busy with very slow drivers. If you want to sight see, ride it from north to south to make it easier to get on and off the road at viewpoints. Before you go, check the CalTrans website to assure that it's open.
