Written Directions

About 7 miles north of Stockbridge, off of Route 100 N, start your route by taking Route 73 west. Follow for about 14 miles and you'll get to 53N. Take 53N for 9 miles past Lake Dunmore and you'll arrive at Route 7. Take this north about 4 miles to 125E. 125E will take you back to Route 100 after 17 miles. Note: if you're like me, you may be tempted to cut out Route 7 and hug the park by taking Upper Plains Road. This is A DIRT ROAD so make sure you are up for that. We took it anyway and it's pretty well kept.

Scenery

This is a jog through the mountains. You'll be seeing lots and lots of forest and not too much else.

Drive Enjoyment

The road is in good shape and has a fair number of fun curves, except for the stretch along 7N.

Tourism Opportunities

It's pretty much just a run through the forest. There're a few campgrounds along the way, but that's about it.

As stated, it's a very scenic run through the Green Mountains. Recommend working some of Route 100 at either end of this run - also very scenic, and a very nice ride. Very few (if any) amenities along the way. Curves and elevation changes keep things interesting also, and the roads are in good condition.

This is a great run. I have done it many times. I usually then follow Rt 100 North to Rt 17 west.
