Written Directions
Start in Hamilton travel south on Hwy 93 approximately 5 miles turn onto state hwy 38 (Skalkaho Hwy). This is of course a seasonal hwy and that should be taken into consideration so late spring travel is still kind of iffy. Follow the hwy for about 65 miles and you will end up in Phillipsburg (Pberg).
Scenery
This ride is truly for the riders who like to get off of the beaten path. There is a combination of pavement and dirt all along the route keep this in mind. you will pass by the beautiful skalkaho falls on your left and will get to see some very beautiful panoramic of the Bitterroot National Forest. There is a slight diversion if a person would like to take and it would be an old game preserve for Elk. There is an abundance of wildlife along the way to look at and get pictures of and if you wanted there are camping spots and campgrounds as well.
Drive Enjoyment
This road has a lot of sweeping curves and a few tight and twisting it is partly made of pavement and dirt in the middle of the route and pavement on the end. *** This is a seasonal route please keep that in mind! ***
Tourism Opportunities
Make sure you have fulled up and have your needed supplies with you that you will need. Once you leave Hamilton there really isn't any places to purchase anything until ll you reach Phillupsburg. With this being a relatively short ride there shouldn't be much you would need other than extra batteries for you camera.
