Written Directions
The route starts in the middle of Chataignier at the intersection of S. 1st St. and Vine St. Take Vine St. (LA-95) west out of Chataignier for 5.2 miles to the intersection with Henry Meiner Rd. Turn right to stay on LA-95 and continue for 1 mile to the intersection with Brangus Rd. Turn left to stay on LA-95 for 1.4 miles to the intersection with Ferdie Rd. Turn left to stay on LA-95 for 1.7 miles to the intersection with Veterans Memorial Hwy (LA-13).
Scenery
The route travels through open farm fields with occasional tree lined stretches.
Drive Enjoyment
The first 2/3rd of the route are the really fun part, with nice sweeping turns that can mostly be taken at the speed limit of 55 MPH. The road is mostly flat, and is well maintained rolled asphalt.
Tourism Opportunities
Chataignier is home to Big Poppa's Cajun Smoked Meats. Mamou is home to the award winning T Boy's Slaughterhouse, Meat Market & Grocery.
