Experience the romantic isolation of the region. Just west of Parksville on the east coast of Vancouver Island, the beautiful Pacific Rim Highway (Highway 4) begins to wind across the spine of the Vancouver Island Mountains to Port Alberni and the open ocean at Ucluelet and Tofino, all three of which are sheltered harbours. This is the route to the Pacific Rim National Park.

Due to construction and the very bumpy road around Kennedy Lake, I found portions of this road a bit of a chore. The scenery was nice though. The most enjoyable part for me was Port Alberni, past Spoatt Lake, and about half way to Kennedy lake and the place where the bouncing started. I'm sure this will become way more enjoyable for cruiser-type riders once the construction is finished.

Beautiful ride and very rewarding ride. Rode this one a couple times and look forward to living in that area someday to ride it more often.
