Get a room somewhere in the area and set out to ride this route early in the morning. If you try to drive in from elsewhere, you'll find yourself stuck in traffic pretty much across the entire length of this route. And it will suck. Otherwise, the scenery is beautiful, and the road is well maintained. You just can't really enjoy it for all the soccer-moms in their giant SUVs.
