Written Directions

From Edmond, go North on Boulevard until you have to turn left or right in Guthrie. Hang a right to go into town and follow the US-77 signs until you head North out of Guthrie. Keep heading North and enjoy some nice curves until you hit 51 where you want to take a right on to 51. You'll take 51 all the way east into/through Stillwater. Hang a right onto 177 and just keep heading South until you go under the turnpike and hit Rt. 66. Take a right and 66 will take you right back into Edmond.

Scenery

The ride is full of back roads and open country. There are nice shaded runs with good shade and wide open runs through massive fields. You also get to see some cool old towns. You start off on straight, open, country back roads all the way to Guthrie. You'll go through Guthrie to reach US-77. From Guthrie to Stillwater you'll hit long, sweeping curves and even some tight, fun curves. From Stillwater you have a nice mix of straight-aways and long curves.

Motorcycle Road Quality:3

The roads were literally average. The country roads were rough at times, but never painful on my back or butt. The more-traveled highways were fine. Route 66 is a great ride. Nice and smooth. It was enjoyable.

Tourism Opportunities

Guthrie is a pretty cool town. It's small, so you won't get lost if you try finding something to do. It's got a nice historic downtown area with a few stores. Stillwater has plenty of bars and great restaurants you could stop at. Id go for Eskimo Joe's. It's always a good pick. You can stop at Pops on your way back on Rt. 66. Good burgers and a nice place to fill up.

I rode this from Edmond on Broadway to Guthrie to Mulhall, the scenery is nice and the curves are fub. There is so little traffic that there is literally grass growing up in the cracks in the concrete and the seams are very rough. Turned back at Mulhall to ride the curves the other direction. Watch out after rainy days as the dirt rodes and tractors often drag a good bit of mud on the rode

Fun ride. The roads are mostly good, with a few rough spots on the country roads, but very manageable. There are some nice sweeping curves, and a few sharper ones as well. Nice views out in the country, range from tree lined shaded road to wide open spaces with fields and grassland.
Nice little trip that i will have to do again.

This is normally an okay Sunday ride. Currently 177 is under construction by 66, which makes things dismal. Route 66 is fun when there is no traffic, and 77 is just fun up around Skeleton Creek. There's lots of different restaurants to stop at, so it's worth doing this ride a few different times, if for no other reason than to try the different food.
