Written Directions

The route begins in Morganza, LA, at the intersection of LA-1 and LA-10. Head west on LA-10 for 6.8 miles. Continue straight onto LA-77, and continue for 6.9 miles to the intersection with LA-81. Turn right onto LA-81, and continue for 3.4 miles. The route ends at the intersection with US-190 in Lottie, LA.

Scenery

The route is mostly tree-lined, traveling past homes and farms.

Drive Enjoyment

The route is curvy without being technical, and is mostly flat. The road surface is a mix of rolled asphalt and chip-and-seal pavement.

Tourism Opportunities

Morganza is the home of the former Melancon's Cafe, site of one of the last scenes of the movie "Easy Rider". While the cafe was demolished in 2016, there is a plaque and billboard marking the location, along with the names of local residents who appeared in the movie. There are fundraising efforts to rebuild the cafe. The Red Apron, the Spillway Cafe, and the Village Cafe are all still open.
